About Us

WHO ARE ASSOCIATES OF THE LITTLE COMPANY OF MARY?

Those who wish to become Associate members of the Little Company of Mary are, first and foremost, men and women who desire to deepen their baptismal consecration and are attracted to the Spirituality and Charism of the Little Company of Mary.

Having a certain maturity of faith, they:

  • Desire to associate themselves in a particular way to the prayer and ministry of the community
  • Are willing to submit themselves to a formation programme
  • Are not members of another religious order, or  Associates of another religious community.

In a covenant relationship with the Little Company of Mary Sisters, Associates  receive from the LCM Community:

  • Encouragement in their commitment to live out the Gospel of Jesus, in the spirit of Mary
  • Hospitality and shared prayer
  • Space to meet, share prayer and celebrations of community importance
  • Regular contact and meetings
  • A formation commensurate with and adapted to each Associates needs and growth.

Though the Little Company of Mary does not undertake any binding financial, legal or healthcare commitment on behalf of the Associate members, it does seek to provide the support systems to enable the Associate members growth and development as part of the wider Company of Mary.

In turn, Associate members commit themselves to:

  • Live by the Gospel of Jesus as companions of Mary
  • To pray for the dying and to work towards furthering the Mission of the LCM in the global Church
  • To deepen their awareness of the suffering of the world and be in solidarity with the esick and suffering through their active prayer and ministries
  • To attend regular meetings in LCM communities or in the homes of other Associates, or to make regular contact through the LCM Associate pages on the web.
  • To maintain contact with the local community and/or LCM Companion appointed to them.
  • There is an annual renewal of commitment, together with regular evaluations. Within the framework of the group, there is room to make decisions to continue or not continue as an Associate member of the Little Company of Mary
